The Crown Estate - The Seabed and Foreshore & Utilities

We have acted for a number of years for The Crown Estate. We are the national co-ordinator for telecommunications issues across all the estates and are members of the Utilities Working Group. We are also the national dealings advisors to the Marine Estate.  

The Marine Estate covers approximately 50% of the UK foreshore and virtually all of the seabed out to 12 nautical miles (21 km approximately). We are responsible for the licensing of all new telecommunications cables, oil and gas pipelines and electricity interconnectors.

We all undertake rent reviews and assist in valuation of the assets. The Crown Estate has recently published New Standard Terms in respect of Gas and Oil pipelines to be installed on the seabed and these are available from The Crown Estate website.
