Case Study 3 - The National Blood Service Bristol Project

The National Blood Service is a Special NHS Trust. The NBS has centres across the UK and fulfills its role in the collection, processing, testing and supply of Blood and Blood products to hospitals. The NBS also undertakes research at many sites. The NBS is aiming to improve its services, currently located on Southmead Hospital in Bristol, by relocating to a new state-of-the-art premises to be built in Bristol. The site, which will be a world leader, will comprise over 115,000 sq ft of laboratory, clean room production areas, testing suites and ancillary accommodation.

Powis Hughes have been involved in the project planning, site finding, appraisal and acquisition of the project. We have also acquired temporary offices and warehousing to facilitate the relocation.

We also advise in the acquistion and disposal of property for a number of clients and are involved, often very early on, in the appraisal of options. We understand the requirements of the Lyons Reforms.
