About Us

Powis Hughes & Associates started in 1995. The original practice was formed by Paul Powis, Stephen Hughes and Rafe Staples all of whom had previously been working for Herring Baker Harris in London.

The original offices were located in Lockington, Derbyshire where we remained for 10 years. In 2005 we refurbished some redundant agricultural buildings in the Berkshire Downs and the practice was relocated as a whole.

Since the firm was established we have always advised specialist and public sector clients almost exclusively and we provide the equivalent of an in-house service.

Wind Turbine Appeal - Approved (Sep 09)

The outcome of the Planning Inspector's visit to our offices in early September was to overturn West Berkshire Council's refusal to grant Powis Hughes planning permission for the installation of a small 6kw "Proven" wind turbine next to our Sunrise Hill Yard offices, East Ilsley.

Powis Hughes' New Wind Turbine will hopefully be installed this year.
