Greens Yard forms a part of the Institute for Animal Health (IAH) site. IAH will close over the coming years, and the main Institute site, adjacent to Greens Yard, will then be used for residential and employment purposes.
Planning Permission
- Permission has been obtained for 26 units of which 7 are to be social housing units:
- Detailed Planning Approval (Reserved Matters Approval) for a 25 unit development [Note: subject to a planning condition that is due to expire in August 2011 if the development is not commenced]
- Full Planning Approval for the former Bank Building on the south-west corner of the site
Access to Site
BBSRC requires that it retain rights over the internal access road to access future residential development on its retained land. This access will not be the primary or main access to the main Institute site for future redevelopment. The purchaser will be allowed access onto the Institute's site to demolish an existing store and the buildings immediately adjacent to the store building.
Timescale
BBSRC requires that the sale is completed in or close to April 2011.
